Tour Overview
📞 Pre-Tour Communication
The driver-guide (or myself personally) will contact the clients the evening before the tour to introduce themselves and confirm all arrangements.
🚌 Starting Point
On the morning of the tour, the guide will arrive at the hotel on time to collect the guests for a full-day Cape Winelands experience. During the journey, the guide will explain the route and provide interesting information about the wine farms and surrounding areas.
Tour Highlights
Stellenbosch
- Our first stop is the beautiful town of Stellenbosch, known as the student town and famous for its oak-lined streets and Cape Dutch architecture. Guests will have approximately 30 minutes to explore and take photos.
Drakenstein Prison (Nelson Mandela Release Site)
- We then visit Drakenstein Prison (formerly Victor Verster Prison), where Nelson Mandela was released in 1990 — a powerful and historic moment in South Africa’s history.
Wine Farm Visits
- Fairview Wine & Cheese Farm
Fairview Wine & Cheese is a renowned third-generation family-run wine farm and artisanal food estate located on the south-western slopes of Paarl Mountain in the Western Cape, South Africa, about 40–60 km from Cape Town.
🌿 Heritage & Setting: Established as a farm in 1693, Fairview combines Cape winemaking tradition with innovative, sustainable farming practices across vineyards, pastures, and artisan food production.
🍷 Wine & Cheese: It’s especially known for its award-winning wines (reds, whites, rosé and blends sourced from vineyards in Paarl, Swartland, Darling and Stellenbosch) paired with handcrafted artisanal cheeses from goat and Jersey cow milk — including classics like Camembert and Chevin.
🐐 Iconic Attractions: The estate’s Goat Tower and friendly farm animals add charm and make it lovely for families as well as wine lovers.
Rove SA
🍽️ Experience: Visitors can enjoy wine and cheese tastings, a farm-to-table dining experience at the Goatshed Restaurant, a deli and bakery, and scenic vineyard views — typically open daily for tastings and visits.
- Simonsvlei Wines
Simonsvlei Winery is a historic wine estate in the Paarl Valley, Western Cape, South Africa, known for producing quality, approachable wines at affordable prices and being a favourite local brand with a long heritage dating back to 1945.
🍇 Wines & Style: Simonsvlei makes a broad range of wines — from classic reds (like Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinotage) to whites and blends — that reflect the region’s terroir and aim to be both flavourful and value-driven.
🍷 Tasting & Experience: The cellar door offers tastings with various wine selections and pairing options, in a relaxed setting ideal for visitors wanting a classic Cape Winelands wine experience.

- Delheim Wine Estate (Lunch)
Delheim Wine Estate is a family-owned wine estate on the slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain in Stellenbosch, South Africa, celebrated for award-winning wines, sustainable farming and classic Cape hospitality. The Sperling family has crafted quality wines here for decades, with a portfolio that includes elegant reds, whites and rosés, and experiences ranging from tastings and cellar tours to cheese pairings and scenic vineyard views
- Muratie Wine Estate
Muratie Wine Estate is one of South Africa’s oldest historic wine farms, nestled in the Knorhoek Valley near Stellenbosch, dating back to 1685. It’s famed for its rich heritage, old-world charm, and story-rich wines named after notable characters from its past. The estate offers atmospheric tastings in its rustic cellar, award-winning wines that reflect Stellenbosch terroir, and a warm, timeless Cape Winelands experience.
